Prerequisite: Acceptance in the BA in Elementary Education, B.S. in Secondary Education, Math, or in Secondary Education, Science

This field experience provides the pre-service teacher the opportunity to observe and evaluate in English as Second Language (ESL) and Sheltered English Immersion (SEI) classroom experiences. In addition, pre-service teacher will teach in small and whole groups to experience how to refine classroom instruction, maanagement, planning and assessment under the guidance of a qualified mentor teacher. Students will reflect on pedagogical and theoretical viewpoints along with strategies, methods, and techniques for understanding developmentally appropriate instruction and the teaching profession. The pre-service teacher will understand and practice the expectation and professional practice including codes of ethics, professional standards of practice, personal professional growth, and development, and understanding educational organizational structures.
