Description

Prerequisite and Co-requisite: ENV 160

This course balances lectures on the basic principles of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) with applied instruction on managing, processing and interpreting spatial data. The laboratory course uses hands-on experience to provide students with basic mapping and spatial analysis skills using ArcGIS software. It should be particiularly useful for students interested in conducting environmental, demographic, suitability, transportation, and construction-related research. Students are strongly encouraged to share experiences, knowledge and suggestions with the instructors and each other.
