Description

Prerequisite: BIO 181, CHM 152

This course will provide an introduction to cell biology and will introduce students to the following topics: cell chemistry, DNA replication, cell cycle
transcription, translation, protein, cellular membrances and architecture, and signal transduction pathways. Lab section willl emphasize modern methods in molecular biology including restriction fragment analysis, DNA and RNA electrophoresis techniques, molecular cloning, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), DNA sequencing, CRISPR, and transgenic technology. This course is appropriate for those pursuing a Bachelor's in Biology or for those interested in the molecular basis of life.
